Dr. Nic van Reede van Oudtshoorn

Dr. Nic van Reede van Oudtshoorn completed a B.Sc Degree in 1972 and a B.Ch.D degree in 1977 (Dux Student) at the University of Pretoria.

After completion of military service, he founded his private practice in 1980 in Pietersburg (now Polokwane).

In 1991 he acquired the CEREC 1 Dental CAD/CAM system and attended his first CEREC course at the University of Zurich.

The CEREC system enabled Nic to manufacture dental restorations for patients in a single visit and he embarked on a journey to learn as much as he could about the system.

Nic became an ISCD certified CEREC trainer in 2002 and was elected as president of the SAACD (South African Academy of Computerized Dentistry) in 2007, he was also elected to the Executive Committee of the ISCD (International Society of Computerized Dentistry) that same year. Nic is also a certified SiroLaser, a dental laser system, trainer for Dentsply Sirona.

Since 2007, Nic has hosted various international conferences on behalf of the SAACD and has lectured nationally and internationally on the CEREC and SiroLaser systems. Nic has been training colleagues to utilize the CEREC and Sirolaser systems in their dental practices.

Nic was an Honorary Lecturer at the University of the Witwatersrand, School of Oral Health Sciences: Prosthodontics in the Faculty of Health Sciences.

In 2008 Nic and his son, Sybrand, opened a high-tech dental practice in Polokwane, equipped with state-of-the-art dental equipment.

At the moment Nic is registered for a Post Graduate Course in CAD/CAM Prosthodontic Dentistry at the University of Pretoria, where he will also lecture under the leadership of Prof. Leanne Sykes.

Nic also served as president of the South African Dental Association’s Limpopo branch from 1987 to 2013 and is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mediclinic Limpopo.

Dr. Sybrand van Reede van Oudtshoorn

Dr. Sybrand van Reede van Oudtshoorn completed a B.Sc Degree (Physiology and Psychology) at the University of Stellenbosch in 2000 and a BDS Degree in 2005 at MEDUNSA (Medical University of South Africa).

In 2006, after completion of community service, he joined his father at his private practice in Polokwane and completed the introductory CEREC training course.

The CEREC system enabled Sybrand to manufacture dental restorations for patients in a single visit and like his father, he wanted to learn as much as he could about the system.

In 2008 Sybrand became an ISCD (International Society of Computerized Dentistry) certified CEREC trainer and have been training fellow dentists in the CEREC CAD/CAM system ever since.


Since 2008, Sybrand has lectured nationally and internationally on the CEREC CAD/CAM system.

In 2008 Sybrand and his father opened a high-tech dental practice in Polokwane, equipped with equipped with state-of-the-art dental equipment.

Sybrand completed a DipOdont (Oral Surgery) in 2008 and a DipOdont (Endodontics - Cum Laude) in 2010 at the University of Pretoria.

Sybrand is a member of the South African Dental Association (SADA) and served as president of the Limpopo Branch from 2014 to 2015. He also serves on the Executive Committee of the South African Academy of Computerized Dentistry (SAACD).
